Lunar New Year 2011 - Homemake Pineapple Tarts
Hop Hop Hop... Here comes the Lunar Rabbit. With less than 10 days to the Lunar New Year, everybody is super busy with spring cleaning and also home made cookies. I am no different and in fact, I did something more different. Feeling more confient, I am selling my pineapple tarts (super buttery and melts in the mouth) @xx cents each. If you are interested, please drop a message at the shoutbox.
I would say that I have gain more experience compared to 2010 Pineapple tarts which took me 4 hours just to bake 5 bottles. As this round I managed to bake 12 bottles in 5 hours. hehehe

It is Pineapple Tarts Day!
With 1 more week before CNY, I finally started baking my 1st attempt on the Pineapple Tarts. I bought the premix pineapple jam from Phoon Huat. To improve the taste, I recooked the jam with extra lemon juice and candiced orange peel for the extra Hmmph on 2 nights before. Once coolled, I started to roll them into mini balls for the baking on sat. As I do not have the pastry recipe, I googled for the perfect recipe yet not sure how is the final taste. So the trial began to test the recipe. With my helper's help, we managed to make 2 design. Took around 1hour to complete. As usual, I asked Kenneth, my food tester to test and he was very impressed. Approval given to continue... in the end we used up 1 kg of plain flour, 3 butter and 1.8kg of pineapple jam to make 5 boxes.
